'Fess up Friday - Hateful icloud edition

Oh people.

There's just too much content to wait until Friday for this post.

Let's start with this. What's wrong with this picture?
Let's take a closer look.

That's right. That's my dadgum dog on my flippin' breakfast table.

Moving on.

I had to take Sassy to the doctor this week for mysterious jaw pain. She would cry every time she tried to eat (and if you know her, that is pretty much constantly).

She had this issue one time in the past, and it miraculously stopped hurting the moment I paid my co-pay. So, despite my reluctance to hand the doctor's office money for the heck of it, I gave in and made an appointment when she sulked up to me with those big, brown beautiful eyes and said, "Mommy? Am I ever going to be able to eat again?"

Drama much?

Anyway, while waiting for the doctor to arrive, Mr. Jenkins managed to do this.

I was just glad he was stuck there in stead of scrambling on and off the exam table (which is what he did for the first 15 minutes we waited).

I honestly don't understand how they let me wait as long as they did. I had all 3 kids in that room and honestly, it must have sounded like we were destroying the place... you'd think they'd hustle up a bit... if not for my sake... for the sake of their medical equipment.

We went to the farm up in North Georgia last weekend. You know the one where we can get raw milk. Mmmmmm.

In addition to the milk, we purchased some grass fed beef and farm fresh eggs. Have you every seen more beautiful eggs!?

Aren't they amazing! There are blue, green, brown, speckled, and pink ones! Who knew that different kinds of chickens (or "girls" as the farmer lady called them) laid different colored eggs?

While we were there, we got to visit with some of the baby animals.
Sassy found this little cow's sweet spot!
It was cute in person, but here... a little creepy, no?

Chilli bean turned 1 on January 10. I can't believe she is one. This year went so quickly.

Love you baby girl...

Even when you get into the dog food or try to sleep in the dog's bed.

Rascal.

I have found a new way to shop at Costco with my gremlins. It does require that I go with my mom or some other unwitting soul as it requires two carts.

On this occasion, mom had a cart with Chilli in the kiddie seat, and I took the big gremlins in another cart. I laid out a blanket for them in the bottom of the cart, and they thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Have I told you that I joined Weight Watchers?

Probably not. After all, that would mean I had some accountability.

Anyway. I did something I have never done before... I took a "before" picture.

Of myself.

In my underpants.

People. It wasn't pretty.

Anyway... I took it. Emailed it to myself. Archived it. And promptly deleted it from my phone.

However...
Somehow, it made it to The icloud.

I hate the icloud. And quite honestly, I don't even know how this picture made it to the icloud since I keep getting messages from the icloud telling me that it is full. If it is so full, why then, did this picture make the cut I ask you?!

Anyway, if it isn't bad enough that some half-naked, fat picture of me is floating around in cyber space... Brent linked our Apple TV to the icloud and guess whose fat butt came scrolling through on the pictures on our TV this evening?

I died a thousand deaths.

Someone... please tell me how to edit the stupid icloud. I need to regulate on that sucker.

New sleeping arrangements

After much discussion and procrastination, we finally did it.

We took Mr. Jenkins out of the crib.

After all... he is 2 and a half.

So, for about a week now, he and his sister have been sharing her room. We have a mattress on the floor that we are sliding out from under her bed.

The first night they jumped on the beds like wild animals and screamed, "we're going to sleep in the same room FOR.EV.ER!"

About twenty minutes after lights out, Sassy was crying for us to, "Put 'Mr. Jenkins' back in his crib!"

Well... it was nice while it lasted.

What wasn't so nice was hearing a blood curdling scream around 2:30 am their first night in the same room.

When I rushed in to find the source I quickly realzied it was Mr. Jenkins (because Sassy was sound asleep in her bed despite the shreiking), but I could not find Jenkie! In my foggy state I acertained that the screaming was a bit muffled and realized that he had fallen off of his matress... and rolled under Sassy's bed!! The poor child was freaked out to say the least.

And frankly, I don't blame him. That would be quite disturbing to wake up on cold hardwood in a confined space in the dark... and not even in the room you are used to. Bless his wee heart.

Thankfully, though they do wake each other up occasionally, and although nap time has officially turned into "rest time," they are doing well with the transition.

Now, if I can just get little Chilli bean out of our closet and moved into Jenkie's crib, we'll be golden.

Yes, I said, my closet. Don't judge! She likes it in there... it is dark, and we have a sound machine, and a video monitor (remind me to tell you a story about that one...) and she likes it gosh darn it!

This week I finally got around to getting some new bedding for the big kids. I have been feeling a bit guilty that the boy is sleeping in a purple and pink room on dainty polka dotted sheets. But finding something that coordinated and still incorporated some of their favorite things was not an easy task. But, I like what we ended up with...

Some critter bedding for Sassy and a plain green reversible quilt for Mr. Jenkins with Dinosaur (a.k.a. "Saurs") sheets.

I think they like it.

Even Pingu looks pleased.

'Fess Up Friday

When we first got married I begged Brent for a dog.

What was I thinking?!?!

My dad was wise and knew that we did not need a dog...

Why? Oh why did I not listen to him?!

Anyway, shortly after we were married, my dad gifted us with the "perfect dog."

Not to be confused with...

The "less-than-perfect-dog"

Anywho...
One night this week, I found that the perfect dog had been accessorized.

I am pretty sure I know who was responsible.

She is a pretty awesome accessorizer after all.

As one of my goals for this year, I am trying to be more intentional about learning/teaching/growing opportunities with the kids.... I am hoping to foster an environment for learning rather than my typical M.O. which is often... just a whole-hearted attempt to keep everyone alive.

I plan to utilize the blog as a means of accountability. So, this week we broke out the clay to do a little sculpting. Mr. Jenkins declined participation and chose instead to watch Despicable Me.

Shocker.

But Sassy, Chilli and I played with some clay. Well... Sassy and I did. Chilli kinda ate it.

Sassy made a number of these...

Which she called, "poozels"... well, technically, "baby poozles" because, obviously... these are small poozles.

Duh!?

And speaking of clay... I was blessed to be able to take a fall mini-session at our local art studio at the end of the year. I love handbuilding and made a few things that I am actually proud of! I know this is 'fess up Friday, so I really shouldn't be bragging, but will you let me show you a few of my "creations"?

My favorite

I was especially proud of how thin this one was.

Okay... thank you for allowing me that.

I'll leave you with a video of Chilli. She has been starting to "talk" a bit recently. I can't imagine why she has learned this phrase so well...

Happy Friday!
